Last year, I met Gorge Camorra, a bartender and bar owner from Australia. He was a finalist in a bartender competition that culminated in a week in France, competing against bartenders from about 20 countries for the title of Best Gin Bartender in the world.
Gorge didn’t win. He scored high, though, and he certainly won my heart. He’s the sort of bartender who makes me proud to tell people that I, too, work behind a bar.
